Writing in Room 14
When the sun came through these leaves we could see the veins like an x-ray.
We learnt that this is called translucent or see through.

We found that all the leaves in this tree were fading.
It was a very light green.
We said that it was green like a lime milkshake.

In these leaves we found that the veins were all stripy, from top to bottom.
We also found this leaf had some sticky sap.
This leaf also grew straight out of the ground and not on branches.

Some of them looked like a star shape or flower shape was created by many leaves together.

We saw some funny looking leaves.
This leaf looked like it was split into even tinier leaves.
This tree looked like it was full of hedgehogs or toilet brushes.

We looked at colours and textures of leaves in our school grounds.
We looked at the detail in the veins.
We talked about the curly, wavy leaves. We examined the main vein.
